    The business- mission of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Russia to Sudan will continue in Moscow on the sidelines of the Russian Energy Week 2021

    From September 25 to October 1st, a delegation of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Russia, headed by the Chairman of the Russian-Sudanese Business Council, Viktor Chemodanov, visited Khartoum (Sudan) on a business mission. The delegation included representatives of the business community from the energy, transport and aviation sectors. Within the framework of the business visit, meetings were held with the Minister of Energy and Petroleum of Sudan Jaden Ali Obaid and Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum of Sudan Waleed Isameldin Alasad, at which they discussed the possibilities of investment and the participation of Russian companies in the economy of Sudan. Sudanese Energy and Petroleum Minister Jaden Ali Obaid confirmed his intention to come to Moscow in mid-October at the invitation of the Russian Energy Ministry and the Russian-Sudanese Business Council to participate in the Russian Energy Week 2021. It is expected that during the events, the Russian and Sudanese sides will sign a number of agreements in the field of energy. At the entrance of the visit to Sudan, the delegation met with the Cabinet Minister, Secretary General of the Secretariat of Sudanese Working Abroad Makeen Hamid Tayrab and the General Manager of the Sudanes Free Zones & Markets.Co.Ltd  Mohamed Mahadi Sharfi. Mr. Sharfi, on behalf of the organizers of the annual International Fair of Khartoum, invited the delegation of the Russian-Sudanese Business Council to take part in the 39th Session of the exhibition, which will be held in Khartoum from January 19 to 26, 2022. The business mission participants expressed their interest in setting up the production of lighting equipment in the Free Economic Zone of Sudan. The delegation visited a number of enterprises and industries, where they studied the possibility of joint production with Sudanese partners. So, in particular, Mikhail Polonsky, Director of the Polar Aviation-Motor aircraft repair enterprise, reached initial agreements with the Sudanese side on the repair and maintenance of the AN-2 small aircraft by the Russian company, as well as during a visit to an automobile manufacturing plant, discussed the possibilities of assembling Russian electric car Zetta at Sudanese sites.   Russian-Sudanese Business Council

    Russia and Sudan Discussed Cooperation in Energy

    September 29, Khartoum. The Minister of Energy and Oil of Sudan Jaden Ali Obaid discussed with the delegation of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation (CCI of Russia) the prospects for investment and the participation of Russian companies in the economy of the East African country. “We strive to expand cooperation and increase joint projects, especially considering the fact that Russian enterprises have high technologies, as well as financial and technical capabilities,” Obaid said after the meeting. He added that Sudan is open to the development of solar energy and is committed to creating stations that use environmentally friendly sources. Moreover, in light of the current crisis, Khartoum is making efforts to reduce the load on the power lines and rationalize consumption. The delegation of the CCI of Russia leaded by the Chairman of the Russian-Sudanese Business Council Viktor Chemodanov, expressed the desire of Russian industry companies to enter the local market, especially since Sudan is considered the gateway to Africa and has many opportunities in the field of renewable energy sources, generously funded today by international organizations.
